What have you done for me lately?

Or, you know, a summary of our last few projects.

In 2016 at Coworking Europe in Brussels, the European Coworking Assembly came under new management and started developing a new vision.

We have also been working to develop new relationships with new partners, whose approach and values are allied with ours.

You can find our partners here.

And together with our partners we have realized a number of projects, to illustrate the activities we think you can get behind.

The Closing Party

Coworking Europe 2017

Together with Ouishare and Copass, and with our sponsor OneTapp app, we threw the closing party for Coworking Europe in Dublin.  Old friends got together, new friends were made, a good time was had by all.

We are right now hard at work on the closing party for 2018 in Amsterdam.

This year we are also working together with the European Coworking Researchers, RGCS Amsterdam, and the Coworking Library on the Researcher’s Meetup, and with Seats2Meet Berlage on an intimate gathering during CWE2018.

GDPR & Coworking

The Hero's Journey Series

Together with Ouishare, Included, the German Coworking Federation, and with support from the lawyers at Linkilaw, we put together a series of blog posts, interviews, Q&A sessions, and a webinar on GDPR and what it means for coworking.

A followup for American coworking spaces in in the works, so watch this space!

The Inclusion Conversation

Across the Continent

Together with Ouishare, the European Coworking Assembly is driving a conversation, both online and offline, about Inclusion and what it means for coworking, for freelancers, and for the future of work we are building together.

We held an event on Inclusion, Diverstiy, and Coworking together with GCUC UK at the Huckletree West in London as well as an Unconference session at GCUC UK in September.

The next session will be held at the CWE conference in Amsterdam in November, and we expect to continue driving this important conversation online and off.

European Freelancers Week

Further connecting freelancers and coworking

We have been proud to be an organizing partner of the EFW since its inception, and this year our cooperation was more intensive than in the past.

#EFWeek is about empowering and self-organizing the self-employed. This years’ theme "Freelancers Assemble! Working Together in the New Economy" aimed to drive towards creating an ecosystem of support, protection and collaboration, made by freelancers, for freelancers.

#lovematija

Memorial & Freelancers' Fund

On Sunday, August 26th, 2018, our friend and colleague Matija Raos passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with cancer. Matija was a founding member of the European Freelance Movement and the leader of Coworking Croatia, and a member of the ECA.

LoveMatija.com was born when we, his friends and colleagues with the European Freelancers Week, were trying to put together a landing page for the EFW2018 website announcing his tragic passing.

From this website was born the first #lovematija tribute event.  Together with the The Croatian Independent Professionals Association (CIPA), Coworking Croatia, and Mike LaRosa of Coworkaholic, we were proud to announce the first annual tribute event to Matija Raos as part of the European Freelancers Week 2018 (#EFWeek).

This event will be held every year during the EFWeek as a gift from the coworking community to the freelancer’s community.

At the first event, Mike announced the #lovematija fund, which we are creating with our partners EFWeek, Ouishare, and Coworkaholic.

The intention is to create a fund in Matija's memory, to provide a financial resource to freelancers who find themselves in financial distress due to unforeseen medical emergencies.
